EXCLUSIVE SERIES OF STEREOVIEWS
“OUR BIRDS IN THE WILD” series C
This is a 12 view set of glossy and detailed stereoviews, photographed by Adolphe Burdet.
Burdet (1868-1943) was Swiss by birth and lived in the Netherlands. His words are: “I’m actually not a photographer, but I’m very interested in practicing photography and cinematography as an assist to the study of biology.”
We have two sets of great original stereoviews. The one presented here has no outer envelope. There’s a booklet though in which every photo is described in four languages.
There are photographs of a Nuthatch, Great Tit or Ex Eye, Blue Tit, Coal Tit, Crested Tit, Marsh Tit, Long Tailed Tit, and a Bearded Tit. So, an awful lot of tits to see here!
Below we give you three examples of this series. If you want more, just email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will gladly send you any scan you like.
View C9: MARSH TIT going to feed its young.
Descriptive booklet says: “It’s about the same size as the coal-tit, with which it is often seen flying in company. It is easily tamed, being not at all shy.”
View C12: BEARDED TIT.
Descriptive booklet says: “This is the female busy feeding her little ones.”
View C6: A BLUE TIT perched on a sweet briarbush.
Descriptive booklet says: “A little owl, near by, is attracting by the very fact of its presence a whole troop of song birds! Redbreasts, wrens and tits are all coming round uttering their alarm note which sounds like an insult meant for the bird of prey. In their agitation, they hop one after another on to the sweet briar in front of my camera.”
